A shelf and a couple of storage nooks at the back of a cavate.

Metal bars were placed in font of this ceremonial chamber to protect it from vandals, but it was constructed in such a way as to let you get a good look inside.

The archaeologist didn't know whether those bricks have been there for centuries, or restacked in modern times.

Avanyu, the water serpent, is a very common figure in these parts. He represents the giver and guardian of water.

Marija examines the remains of a 2-story house. The straight lines of holes in the cliff were sockets to hold beams. The lower ones were considerably bigger. There are still a few shaped tuff bricks strewn about.

A gaggle of uncooperative cousins, plus another little girl.
Girls at the "Rock House" in Mansfield, Missouri. Rose (Wilder) Lane had this house built for her parents Laura (Ingalls) and Almanzo Wilder, and they lived in it for several years before moving back into the farmhouse. The house is a "Mitchell" English cottage built from plans purchased from Sears and Roebuck.
